Undersea grotto with dappled sunlight

Debussy La Mer
Anna Meredith Nautilus
Shostakovich Symphony No.9

Let the swelling sounds of the sea transport you as Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra brings Debussy's impressionist masterpiece La Mer to life.

Then, feel the rhythm of the deep as Anna Meredith's aquatic-inspired Nautilus dances through innovative beats and melodies.

To finish, we invite you on a journey from the depths of the ocean to the heights of the symphony with Shostakovich's buoyant and lively ninth Symphony.

After years troubled by political repression, Shostakovich here returns to his youthful energy and musical wit. With thrilling percussion and soaring strings, the four interconnected movements offer a musical escape.

Join us for an evening of music that flows and crashes like the sea itself.
