Polish-born cellist Joanna Sachryn, currently Professor of Cello at the Yehudi Menuhin School in Qingdao China, and pianist Charles Matthews’s programme celebrates a diversity of styles. There’s a particular emphasis on variation form, which fascinated Beethoven, including his important early variations on Mozart’s opera, The Magic Flute.
