Emma Brown is a flautist, researcher, and disability activist who is currently undertaking her PhD studies at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She graduated with a first-class Master of Music Degree in Instrumental Performance at RBC in 2024. She is a versatile flute player with orchestral, ensemble and solo experience; she particularly enjoys performing in community settings such as hospitals. She organised and performed in the OHMI Trust’s 15th Anniversary Celebration Concert in the Bradshaw Hall in September this year, which was a resounding success.
Emma’s own experiences as a musician and a double leg amputee are a key motivator behind her path into research; she is grateful for performance opportunities away from the PhD desk.
Zhijun Liu completed her undergraduate studies at Sichuan Conservatory of Music. She received accolades of Outstanding Graduate of the School and Outstanding Graduate of the Province.
