A gala night of brilliant brass music in special arrangements, super tricky contest pieces and a massed band finale to blow your socks off.
Arrangements of orchestral favourites by Bach, Gershwin and Gade are played by a terrific ten-piece ensemble led by Interim Head of Brass Ed Jones. Then the sensational Youth Band-in-Residence, YB2K set the stage alight as Chris Jeans directs Peter Graham’s epic Cry of the Celts.
The superb musicians of the RBC Brass Band showcase their skill in exciting works by Richard Strauss, Edward Gregson and Oliver Waespi, conducted by Director of Brass Band Studies Ian Porthouse alongside talented student conductors Josh Geddes and Alan Gifford. Finally, all of the ensembles join forces for Dan Price’s high-octane concert finale, Starburst.
Running time approx. two hours.
