What employers say

Panasonic

"Students fill real roles within Panasonic and if we were unable to place students we would need full-time employees in these roles. Students are able to look at the business with ‘fresh eyes’ and bring new ideas, ranging from changing the format of a letter to recommending process improvements.

A huge benefit of students to the business is that on average two students a year are invited back to Panasonic once they have graduated. This is particularly useful because students will understand the processes within Panasonic and have contacts within key departments to allow them to settle into their job more quickly. A key measure of this success is we now have 14 previous students working full time for the business in key roles, in areas such as marketing, sales, HR and finance."

Healthcare Market Intelligence

"I highly recommend Birmingham City University to other corporates and business owners looking to hire a high-quality intern. The student we received had great communication skills, and was eager to develop corporate finance research skills with a can-do attitude." - Ramesh Jassal, Director

Schaeffler (UK) Ltd

"Schaeffler (UK) Ltd has been taking marketing placement students from Birmingham City Business School every year for the last 10 years. This proves just how happy we have been with the quality of the students available to us. Each one has shown a positive and mature attitude to their work and their fellow colleagues, fulfilling a real and challenging role that is key to the smooth running of the department. More often than not, it is very difficult to only pick one!

The strong support we receive from the Business School Placement Office is also very welcome and makes the whole process very easy to manage. The feedback we receive each year from our students is always very encouraging and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Birmingham City Business School for the foreseeable future." -Karen Preston, Marketing Services Manager

Reform

"We have been lucky in having two exceptionally bright and motivated interns from Birmingham City University over the last two years. Both made a real contribution to the business, helping to deliver a range of digital marketing projects to clients and running Reform’s social media profiles. As a small business we were able to give the student a really wide range of hands-on experience and it was fantastic to see both of them grow in confidence and digital skills." - Jess Harris, Client Operations Director
