Education and Teacher Training
We have a long and established history of delivering Initial Teacher Education (ITE), education, childhood and youth courses in Birmingham.
We offer high-quality courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate degree level that are tailored to meet the needs of the professions. We offer a range of courses that explore children and childhood in contemporary society that promote equality, diversity and social justice to make a real difference to children, young people and families.
Placement opportunities play an important part in all courses, and we will provide you with opportunities to work alongside a range of professionals in children’s centres, family support services, early years settings, youth projects, and more. Our teacher training courses offer placements in a variety of schools across the duration of your course which allow you to collect the evidence needed to be recommended for Qualified Teacher Status, meaning that at the end of the three years you could leave with both expert knowledge and the qualification needed to teach it in schools.
In 2025 Education and Teacher Training will move to the City Centre Campus.
