Graduation ceremonies

Guest tickets

We know that celebrating graduation ceremonies with family and friends is important to our graduates and we are excited to announce that guest tickets are now on sale at B:Music, Symphony Hall Box Office. There are a few things you need to know in order to book your tickets successfully to enjoy your celebration with your guests.

For students invited to 6pm ceremony on Friday 6 January 2023

If you had already purchased guest tickets for your previous ceremony date and time, the same seats under your existing booking have automatically been transferred over to your new ceremony date and time.

If you still need to book tickets, please be assured there is still plenty of seating available in your new ceremony but due to Symphony Hall box office needing to complete these reallocations, guest tickets sale are not currently available and no new bookings can be made. We will notify you as soon as these are released and will retain our policy that tickets will be initially restricted to up to two guest tickets per graduate to ensure equity for all new bookings.

If can no longer attend your new ceremony time and require a refund from Symphony Hall for guest tickets already purchased then contact us at award.ceremonies@bcu.ac.uk with your student ID number, booking reference number and the email address you used to complete your booking to receive a full refund.

Student tickets are free of charge and are to be collected from the Registration desk on the day of your ceremony.

Guest tickets cost £20.00 for adults and £10.00 for children (aged 18 months-14 years) plus £3.00 booking fee. All children (aged 18 months –14 years) must have their own ticket. Failure to do so will result in purchasing additional tickets (if available) on the day, which will be in a different area of the Hall than the initial two guest tickets. Should the Box office be required to reallocate your seating to accommodate additional guests you may be charged a relocation fee. For information about our policy on children attending please see our FAQs.

Please note the following flat-rate booking fee charges are also applied by B:Music, Symphony Hall Box Office:

  • £3.00 per ticket for on-line, telephone and counter bookings
  • Lost tickets - a minimum charge of £2.00 will be made by Symphony Hall for printing duplicate tickets.

All tickets will be issued as E-tickets once you have completed your booking. These will then be scanned on the day so remember to share your tickets with your guests ahead of your ceremony so they can get to their seats!

Each graduate will have received a direct link to their ceremony via email, please note that telephone bookings are currently not available.

All graduates are eligible to book two guest tickets initially to allow everyone an equal chance to bring guests with them, should they wish. If you have booked more than two tickets during the initial sale period, these will automatically be cancelled, and the purchaser will be liable for any booking fees incurred.

Additional guest tickets

If any additional tickets become available, these will be available for purchase from Monday 5 December, 10am from B:Music Symphony Hall box office. These tickets are sold on a first come first served basis, are subject to availability and will be in a different area of the hall from seats booked prior to this date.
