We want all our students to achieve their full potential. With our scholarship schemes, you could receive support to kick-start your BCU journey.

General undergraduate scholarships

Our Accelerate Scholarship, Travel Pass Scheme and Sport Scholarship are for students studying any undergraduate course who meet the terms and conditions. Find more information on the eligibility requirements for each scholarship.

The Accelerate Scholarship

Our £1,000 BCU Accelerate Scholarship is paid in three instalments across your first year of study to support you as you make the move from school or college.

We have a range of scholarships and bursaries for a number of our undergraduate courses.

School of Arts

  • Art and Design £1,000 scholarships

    BCU is offering scholarships worth £1,000 for undergraduate students joining BA (Hons) Art and Design with Creative Technologies or our Art and Design foundation year in September 2026.

  • English and Creative Writing £1,000 scholarships

    BCU is offering scholarships worth £1,000 for undergraduate students joining BA (Hons) English and Creative Writing, BA (Hons) English and Journalism, BA (Hons) English Language and Literature, BA (Hons) English Literature or BA (Hons) Creative Writing starting in September 2026.

Business School

  • Business and Entrepreneurship £1,000 scholarships

    BCU is offering scholarships worth £1,000 for undergraduate students joining BSc (Hons) Business and Entrepreneurship in September 2026.  

School of Architecture, Built Environment, Computing and Engineering

  • Engineering £1,000 scholarships

    BCU is offering scholarships worth £1,000 for undergraduate students joining BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering or BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering in September 2026:

  • Games £1,000 scholarships

    BCU is offering scholarships worth £1,000 for undergraduate students joining BA (Hons) Game Art, BA (Hons) Game Design, BSc (Hons) Game Technology or BSc (Hons) Game Programming starting in September 2026.

  • Henderson Bursaries and Scholarships

    If you apply to one of our selected full-time Computing, Engineering or Built Environment courses you could be eligible to receive a Henderson Scholarship worth £10,000 a year over three years, or a one-off Henderson Access Bursary of £2,000.

  • Millennium Point Scholarship

    Millennium Point are offering a fully funded undergraduate degree in the School of Architecture, Built Environment, Computing and Engineering.

School of Life and Health Sciences

  • Sport and Exercise Science £1,000 scholarships

    BCU is offering scholarships worth £1,000 for undergraduate students joining BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science in September 2026.

School of Nursing and Midwifery

  • Learning Disability Nursing £1,000 scholarships

    BCU is offering scholarships worth £1,000 for undergraduate students joining BSc (Hons) Learning Disability Nursing in September 2026.    

School of Law and Social Sciences

  • Youth Work £1,000 scholarships

    BCU is offering scholarships worth £1,000 for undergraduate students joining BA (Hons) Youth Work and Communities in September 2026.

Royal Birmingham Conservatoire

  • Music scholarships and bursaries

    The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire offer bursaries to home undergraduate music students from lower-income backgrounds as well as a number of scholarships to music applicants who demonstrate excellence or outstanding potential at audition, and/or specialize in a ‘shortage’ Principal Study area.

  • Acting bursaries

    The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire offer bursaries to home undergraduate students joining Acting, Applied Theatre and Stage Management courses from lower income households.
