Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Alumnus Wins Celebrating Culture and Heritage Award
A Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (RBC) alumnus has won the Celebrating Culture and Heritage Award at the Northamptonshire Community Foundation Awards for A Home for Harmony, a community-focused musical play for young children. Tristan Jackson-Pate, who graduated from RBC with a BA (Hons) in Acting in 2010, joined People’s Theatre Collective initially as an actor and became Artistic Director in 2015, a role he continues to hold. -
Marketing Megastar : Meet BCU’s Alumna of the Year
Graduate and marketing entrepreneur Olivia Mae Hanlon has been named Birmingham City University’s Alumna of the Year. Olivia, who graduated with a degree in Psychology and Criminology in 2019, is the founder and CEO of Girls in Marketing, a community-led platform she launched shortly after university. -

BCU Alumnus wins New Furniture Makers Design Award
A Product and Furniture Design graduate has won the prestigious Design Award at the New Furniture Makers Exhibition. Reuben Porter, who graduated from BCU in 2025, secured first place in the Young Furniture Makers Design Category of the New Furniture Maker Awards for his contemporary reinterpretation of the classic machinist chair, Archetype – M. -
