Our innovative environment and employability services mean we have the highest number of student and graduate business start-ups of any university in the West Midlands (HESA, 2022).

BCU’s Student Enterprise team have helped establish over 200 businesses in the region over the past three years, combining practical support with real-world insight. Shovon Wiggan

Business Management graduate Shovon founded her own business called Inspire-a-Doll. Shovon's multicultural dolls aim to bring more representation to the toy industry, using the skills she gained from participating in the Hatchery Programme and BSEEN.

Emily Brookes

Emily won first prize in the Hatchery Programme for her fashion brand, “This Ain’t My First Rodeo.” Her brand focuses on transforming textile waste into innovative designs. Emily has continued to grow her business while gaining industry recognition, including appearing as a contestant on fashion series RE/style.
