Psychology

Our students and academics work together across disciplines to develop insights into society.

We’re focused on understanding relationships inequalities, crime, health behaviours and mindfulness to explore how Psychology can promote change in the real-world. For us the big picture is everything. Our teaching and your learning are intertwined with research, and connections with communities to see how Psychology can benefit people.

We are proudly rooted in a vibrant, diverse, and transformed city which allows us to explore cross-cultural patterns of behaviour and develop a deeper understanding of the world. We apply our research in real-world settings nationally and internationally, working with charities, prisons, hospitals, schools, and the police to understand and influence social change. We encourage our students to explore all areas of Psychology, to discover and critically analyse the constantly changing world around them.
