Balvinder worked before joining Academia in Accounting and is a trained teacher with a qualified teacher status (QTS). Balvinder has worked in Academia since 1996 and have developed and led on many courses ranging from professional accredited courses in Accounting and Internal Audit as well Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degrees.

Balvinder introduced the first Degree Apprenticeship at Birmingham City University in 2017 and worked to develop the process and systems at the University at both Faculty and University Level.

Balvinder has been involved in setting up and participating Trail Blazer groups including two led by Birmingham City Business School and is the Faculty Lead on Apprenticeships, developing the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship and the Senior Leader Apprenticeship. In addition Balvinder is an External on an Apprenticeship Board to a large NHS Trust, since May 2019.

Balvinder has led as Course Leader on Insurance and Risk Management, BA(Hons) Business Management (Work-Based) and the Executive Apprenticeship Masters in Business Administration (MBA). Balvinder is currently the Director of Corporate Executive Education for the Birmingham City Business School and has worked with Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Ltd, NHS, Galliford Try and SME’s.
