Accessibility and Internationalisation

In 2015 the Faculty of Health became the first UK University to be awarded the highly prestigious Dyslexia Friendly accreditation by the British Dyslexia Association. 

Aligned with this is a commitment within the Faculty to ensuring that its rich media online simulation resources are as accessible as possible. Virtual Case Creator (VCC) 3.0 further enhances the accessibility options provided by our earlier platform 2.6 to ensure that our simulations can be engaged with fully by all of our students.

Accessibility features within 3.0 sims include: capacity to change text font size, colour and background colour; video captioning and transcripts; appropriate colour contrasting within the UI, and support for keyboard only access within every simulation. 3.0 is now fully compliant with WCAG A and AA standards.

Internationalisation

Support for internationalization of sims has been integrated into our latest sim software. Currently the software supports English (UK), Dutch, Greek and Spanish.
