Alan Loveridge

BUCS Hockey Coach

Alan Loveridge has coached our BUCS hockey team since 2018. 

Alan has a passion for coaching hockey as he currently supports both Birmingham City University and King Edwards VI School. In addition, Alan has coached at University College Birmingham and worked as the ladies head coach/youth development at Barford Tigers Hockey Club. 

Alan also enjoys participating in hockey and is currently in the Barford Tigers Hockey Club. In 2008/09 the Barford Tigers won the England Hockey Masters Cup, in 2009/10 they represented England in the Euro vets competition in Holland, in 2011/12 they won the England Hockey mixed competition and in 2018/19 they won the England Hockey masters trophy. 

Between 1981 - 2007 Alan has also represented the Midlands at U18 level, Worcestershire at U16, U18, U21 level and he has captained the Worcestershire mixed at U21 and full county winning the mixed county tournament on four occasions with the Old Halesonians Hockey Club / Vandeanians mixed team. 

Finally Alan has captained a Great Britain mixed representative team in both international matches and tournaments at senior and U21 level and he has captained an England mixed representative side in tournaments in France, Holland, Germany and Poland. In addition to playing for various international teams both in the UK and abroad Alan has spent time in Germany where he played for Bremer Hockey club in Bremen.
