Looking for a career in a rapidly growing sector? Our BSc (Hons) Accounting and Islamic Finance degree will see you graduate with the skills the industry is in need of.
Apply now for September 2021 entry via UCAS.
Islamic Finance is a fascinating and dynamic multi-disciplinary area of the international financial services sector. As an established niche of the finance industry, it is set to grow at an exponential rate over the next few years. The current annual growth rate is estimated to be between 15% and 20%.
As a result of the rapid growth experienced in this emerging area, most individuals and finance organisations’ have minimal exposure to understanding its unique and profound nature, leading to a significant skills shortage. Our course will expose students to the various specialised areas and industry experience which they can use to travel and work in countries where Islamic Finance services are being set up or are established but in need of qualified staff.
In the first year the students will complete the common year modules that all students on the Accounting courses are studying. This will give them a basic understanding to the accounting and business world around them. They will then be introduced to the Islamic Finance context and subject specific information via a series of events led by guest speakers.
Students will then further specialise in their second and third years via specialised modules in Islamic Accounting, Islamic Microfinance and Islamic Fintech, alongside advanced standard accounting modules.
The entry requirements displayed on this page are subject to change. The final entry requirements will be published by 15 June 2020.
