Ian is a cognitive developmental psychologist with particular interests in language processing and literacy ability. Ian completed his MSc and PhD at the University of Warwick where his doctoral research examined adult participants’ sensitivity to the rhythmic patterns present in spoken language (prosody) and how this varies in better and poorer readers. Ian has been teaching in higher education for over ten years and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Prior to this, he worked with Speech and Language Therapy Services in the NHS.
