Emma Tonks

Emma qualified as a Paediatric Nurse from Birmingham City University’s Dip HE course in 2011, she then began her career at Birmingham Children’s Hospital on the Liver and small bowel unit.

In 2012 she moved to Heartlands Hospital on the paediatric inpatient ward. During her 9 years at UHB she progressed to a Sister’s role on the assessment unit and then became clinical educator and most recently Senior Practice educator. During her time as educator, she began lead for Paediatric and Neonatal IV Therapy for UHB Trust. On a personal level Emma was nominated on the EPALS course in 2020 to take part in the GIC to become an instructor.

Emma has been at BCU since October 2021 and started working on a second-year core module and helping out with the chill out hub.
