Eve Thrupp

Eve started her journey at BCU in Nursing in 2002. She is a qualified Paediatric Nurse. Upon qualifying, she worked in Neonatal care and then moved to work in trauma and Orthopaedics at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Eve then worked more rurally and completed her specialist practitioner degree in public health. Eve worked as a School Nurse in the community setting, both rural and inner-city locations-moving back closer to home when she got married and had her two children.

Eve gained further experience in more specialist roles working as Lead Nurse for Safeguarding Children, Adults, and Patients with Learning Disabilities- in the hospital setting. Team lead and service improvement design within school Nursing. Eve is passionate about safeguarding and ensuring that patients and families are central to, and part of the team that delivers the best possible care. Eves values are central to her practice, and creating healthy and positive relationships with colleagues, and patients increase positive outcomes for our patients and families.

Eve became a Queen’s Nurse in 2016 and has worked with the Queens Nursing Institute on national policy change, with public health England for children and young people addressing LGBTQ needs in schools. With over 16 years experience working both in the hospital and community setting, Eve then worked for the QNI in the role of Nursing programs manager teaching the Aspiring Leadership programs to post-graduate Nurses- taking their next steps as senior leaders in health and social care settings. Other areas of her work at the QNI included national project management, supporting international QNI work, and supporting the development of specialist practice standards, with Nursing and Midwifery Council consultation. Currently completing her MSC in education, Eve is keen to continue to learn and embraces each opportunity to connect with people and enjoys a shared learning experience. Supporting, and facilitating learning is fundamental to Nursing and providing the best possible care, and Eve feels privileged to be part of the learner journey- enabling people to reach their potential.
