Yinglong is a practitioner and researcher in craft and design discipline. He completed his bachelor and masters degrees in Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University from 2007 to 2014. Through these courses Yinglong learned different kinds of traditional metal crafts and digital technologies in jewellery design discipline, the culture of Chinese traditional jewellery and theories of contemporary jewellery in Europe.

In the past fifteen years, he has visited many minority villages in China to study the traditional craft and realized the current situation of these cultural heritages. In order to have a further progress in craft study, Yinglong began my PhD journey at the School of Jewellery, Birmingham City University since 2019. As a contemporary craftsman and designer, he bears the responsibility of the sustainability of cultural heritage. Through his PhD study, Yinglong has realized the importance of innovation for the sustainable development of traditional craft in the digital era today.
