Our Students - Lillie Hall
This summer I was given the amazing opportunity to work at ‘Leeds Festival’, working for the company ‘Festival Republic’. The role I successfully secured was that of Campsite Zone Manager. I had a campsite full of tents, and an area of camper-vans that I personally managed.
This was an extremely big challenge, which entailed managing multiple different teams including security, volunteers and a car parking team. The responsibility was extremely high and if anything had gone wrong, for either me or my teams, it was on my shoulders.
I learnt an incredible amount about what goes into the processes behind festivals and events themselves, having a good look behind the scenes at why things happen the way they do and how - an opportunity I am incredibly grateful to have had. By the end I felt that not only had I learnt an incredible amount, I was excited to begin my journey within the events industry.
