A busy day for Andrew…

UNIVERSITY NEWS LAST UPDATED : 30 MARCH 2011

Wednesday 23 February was busier than usual for TEE Senior Lecturer, Andrew Wilson.

As well as organising Game On, an event which provided students with the opportunity to meet games industry professionals in order to gain an insight into the sector, he also had a visit from Five’s The Gadget Show.

The TV programme contacted the University’s Press Office to ask if they could hold a launch of a computer game in front of students. The programme’s producers were put in touch with Andrew who agreed to fit in the TV filming with Game On - billed as ‘speed dating for computers games students’. Following publicity for his event, which received financial backing from NTI, Andrew was even contacted by students from another university who asked to attend.

Both the filming and Game On were successes. Stephen Hands, from game developer company 3DNative said: “Game On was very enjoyable. Lots of bright young students on the horizon.”
