Summer Music Festivals in Birmingham
We can’t think of a much better way to enjoy the Summer than to listen to our favourite bands and chill out in the sunshine with friends (ok it’s Britain, a rain coat may be required!). Birmingham hosts over 50 festivals each year, so whether you love dance, jazz, folk or a bit of classic pop, there’s bound to be something for you. Just a couple to mention…

Days out in Birmingham
If you’re looking for places to visit in Birmingham, there’s a wide variety of historical, cultural and chocolate-y tourist attractions for you to explore. Did you know Birmingham has more canals than Venice? Why not explore the waterways by hiring a barge, or more simply it’s a beautiful way to get your 10,000 steps a day.
You can’t beat a bit of retail therapy too. The Bullring has more than 160 shops and is the size of 26 football pitches! Plus the city is also spoilt with the world's biggest Primark, and Grand Central and the Mailbox shopping centres.

Have an adventure this Summer at the home of Earth’s Greatest Challenges where you can take on incredible mental and physical challenges. Can you beat Bear Grylls' record breaking completion time of 63 seconds on the Royal Marines-inspired Assault Course?

The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham
Come face-to-fin with over 2,000 creatures at The National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham. Meet the rare Gentoo Penguins and come face-to-fin with an array of sharks as they swim above you in the UK’s only 360º ocean tunnel! Don’t forget to say hello to the new residents, a pair fostered seals in the brand new world class Rescue Facility.

Summer and sport go hand-in-hand like strawberries and cream. Fancy a kick about in the park? With over 8,000 acres of parks and open space, Birmingham is one of the greenest cities in the UK!
But if you prefer to be in the crowd than working up a sweat, there’s plenty of sporting events in Birmingham this Summer you won’t want to miss, including:
Cricket at Edgbaston Stadium
With fast-paced cricket action, live music and great food, Birmingham Bears are hosting the perfect days and nights out this Summer.
Get together with friends, family or colleagues and experience a night of T20 cricket at one of seven matches at the world famous Edgbaston Stadium, including three on a Friday night.
Adult tickets are only £19 when purchased in advance, a saving of £6 per ticket compared to the on-the-day price. Under 16s, meanwhile, go free to all games.

Muller Grand Prix and British Athletics Championships
Don't miss the some of the best athletes at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium on Sunday 18 August for an afternoon of world-class athletics.
Then pop back to see the best of British at the British Athletics Championships on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 August - a great warm up to the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022.
