UNIVERSITY NEWS LAST UPDATED : 05 MARCH 2021
Professor of Landscape Architecture Kathryn Moore will deliver talk entitled A Guide to Challenging Big Ideas on Friday 12 March, 2pm.
Kathryn will discuss the dangers of following a pragmatic line of inquiry, redefining theories of perception and challenging the basis of epistemology, illustrated by a number of case studies undertaken over the last decade, following the publication of her book Overlooking the visual, Demystifying the Art of Design.
The talk is part of both the Women’s Words series, which highlights the research and interests of BCU’s Women Professoriate, and xCHANGE Festival, which marks International Women’s Day.
xCHANGE2021 aims to reflect and celebrate the breadth and complexity of research taking place at BCU, and is an opportunity to hear about the lived experiences of women. The Festival runs throughout March and its diverse programme of presentations, provocations and participation is open to all students and staff.
Other events in the Festival will explore Gender and Leadership in Nursing, the barriers women face in academia, creating trans and non-binary inclusive research, and much more.
BCU staff and students can book a place for Professor Kathryn Moore’s talk here. The full xCHANGE Festival programme can be viewed here.
