Open Day FAQs

We know that Open Days can be quite overwhelming, especially if you've never attended one before. So, we've compiled a list of FAQs to help you have a successful Open Day and get the most out of your visit to BCU.

I would like to book for your Open Day
You can usually book via our website. If bookings aren’t open, you may have the option to register your interest in the event if you’d like us to notify you of when you can book.
Do you have to print the Open Day pass?
You can either print the pass and bring it with you, or have it open on your phone so we can register you on the day.
Do I need to be here for 9.00am?
The main University Open Days normally start at 9.00am and run until 3.00pm. However, you are free to come and go as you choose. You can make the day as flexible as you want and can choose which tours, sessions and talks you would like to attend.
Can I bring guests with me?
Yes, you are welcome to bring guests with you - whether that's parents, family members, or friends. You may bring your children with you, although we would stress that you are responsible for them at all times. If your guest/friend is also interested in the Open Day, please ensure they register separately for the event.
Which Campus do I need to go to?
Please check your booking confirmation email and the programme for the day (the programme will be sent to you nearer the event date) to make sure you attend the correct campus. If you need any assistance as to which campus to visit please contact or call 0121 331 5595.
Will accommodation be open to view?
Accommodation is available to view at the main University Open Days. You do not need to book for an accommodation tour in advance of the Open Day, but we would encourage you to book a tour as soon as you can once you arrive at the event, as tours can be popular.
I am interested in more than one course do I have to register for each course?
If the courses are at the same campus, then please do not worry about registering again for the other course - you will receive an Open Day programme for that campus which covers activities for all courses taking place on that site. If the other course, or courses, you are interested in is based at another campus, then you can pick up the relevant programme on the day for the other campus.
I have not received an email confirmation of my booking.
If you don’t receive a confirmation email of your booking, please contact us to let us know. You can email or call 0121 331 5595.
Where can I eat and drink?
There are places to eat on Campus offering food and drink to eat in or take away. There are also social areas for you sit in and eat if you bring a packed lunch. Details of where you can purchase refreshments are included in the Open Day programme.
What happens if I arrive late?
If you are running late please don’t panic - our talks and tours normally run more than once on the day. When you arrive, just come and see us at the registration desk to check in and we can help you find out which activities, talks and tours you can take part in.
I wish to cancel my Open Day booking
You can cancel your booking by clicking on the ‘Amend your booking’ link you will find in the Open Day booking confirmation email you should receive when you initially book for the event. You can then click on the ‘Cancel’ button to cancel your booking. Alternatively, you can email or call 0121 331 5595 to request that we cancel your booking.
Who can I contact if I have any further questions?
Please contact or call 0121 331 5595 and we will be happy to help you.
Do I need to let you know if I or one of my guests has a disability?
Please advise us if you have a disability when you complete the Open Day booking form on our website. We will then contact you to see if you require any further assistance. If any of your quests have a disability and may require assistance, please contact us to let us know and we will be happy to help. You can email us at or call 0121 331 5595.
