University Locks is ideal if you want to live close to campus as well as enjoying that city-living feeling. Security is important and, in addition to 24-hour CCTV, security officers are on duty out of office hours and there is a secure door entry system.
The bright and airy rooms are fully furnished. En suite bedrooms (5 to 8 bedroom flats), each come with a shared kitchen and lounge/dining area and a TV. Two-bedroom flats are also available at University Locks. Each comes with a shared bathroom, kitchen and lounge/dining area with a TV.
We also have some adapted and accessible accommodation for students with physical and sensory impairments.
Car Parking
No parking is available.
Residents who hold a valid Blue Badge can apply for University Locks parking permit. Parking is only allowed when application is approved and a parking permit has been issued.
Cleaning
The lifts, stairwells and landings in each apartment are cleaned by contracted staff. However, cleaning of the apartment is the responsibility of the residents.
City Centre Wellbeing studio
The City Centre Wellbeing studio, located at University Locks, includes a timetable of exercise classes which are available to students from Monday – Saturday, 7am – 6:30pm. With our students physical wellbeing in mind, the studio has been designed as a relaxing space to take part in exercise classes such as Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Boxercise and much more. The timetable is periodically reviewed and updated by the BCU Active team to reflect the needs of our student community.
