Lucille trained in Midwifery at Birmingham City University and qualified in 2000. She then worked at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital (BHH), orientating to all departments, and becoming core staff on a midwifery led postnatal ward. In 2003, she moved to Birmingham Women’s Hospital to become core staff on the Birth Centre, the first in Birmingham, and the first to be purpose built. She specialised in the intrapartum care of women with low-risk pregnancies, including active birth and waterbirth; and was instrumental in setting up the use of aromatherapy on the Birth Centre and Labour ward. Lucille gained promotion to band 7 and rotated between Birth Centre and Labour ward, acting as shift co-ordinator and working in triage. She trained in aromatherapy at Penny Price Academy and gained a Diploma in clinical Aromatherapy, going on to set up her own home based business. She offers treatments in aromatherapy, aromaflexology and skincare.
