Hellen Yen, a student on the MSc Finance and Investment course, has won a Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) Educational Trust Award.
Hellen was awarded her prize at a ceremony in the Birmingham City Business School’s City Trading Room on Tuesday 6 March. The ceremony was attended by Executive Dean Professor Keith Horton, Head of the Accounting, Economics and Finance department Rod Kelly, Head of Birmingham City Business School Dawn Albery, and course lecturers Dr Mingru Sun and Dr Navjot Sandhu (pictured left to right).
Celebrating high standards of work amongst students studying CISI accredited courses, the awards are structured to support the ambitions of each winner as they progress into a financial services career. Winners are those who have performed best amongst their peers in an item of work, test, or university initiative identified by each of the 23 CISI accredited universities.
Speaking about her success, Hellen said “My experience studying at Birmingham City University was inspiring. Not only does BCU strive to provide a top environment and superior teaching quality, but BCU also endeavoured to invest in every student who worked hard.
With the collaboration through the CISI, which possesses abundant financial resources that facilitated students growing in qualification, students have the best opportunities to be equipped with knowledge for the future.
One of her lecturers, Dr Navjot Sandhu, added “This award is the result of hard work, and the beginning of a journey with plenty still to achieve. Congratulations to Hellen for winning this award.”
The CISI accredits three Birmingham City Business School courses – BSc Business Finance, BSc Finance and Investment, and MSc Finance and Investment.
