During the last 12 months an excellent relationship has developed between Birmingham City Business School and Nipissing School of Business, Canada.
This has led to reciprocal visits, and the exchange of ideas, culminating with Bob Carpenter, the Director of Nipissing School of Business visiting Birmingham City Business School where he delivered a guest lecture to MBA and MSc students. During the visit, a progression agreement was finalised and several exciting international initiatives explored.
Birmingham City Business School and Nipissing School of Business have agreed to work together to co-operate in the development and launch of two international learning experiences. They will participate in a simultaneous international marketing module/course starting in the winter 2012 and an International Business Camp where students address a big society issue.
Birmingham City University and Nipissing School of Business are also pleased to work with Rotterdam Business School in these initiatives. It is hoped that the module/course will be shared between the three schools and that the camp will be hosted in Canada, Holland, and England in successive years. This will give students exposure to working with students from the other countries and will encourage increased participation in international exchange and study.
Other discussions have included a bi-lateral export project possibility, student exchanges, faculty exchanges, and Birmingham City University’s pioneering work in Student Academic Partnering and practice-based degrees.
