Impressions of the sea and characterful Spanish folksongs give just a snapshot of the variety in this hour-long song recital which begins with a jaunty aria from Handel’s opera Alcina. Magical and evocative scenes are created in Elgar’s Sea Pictures, two Strauss songs burst with love, and de Falla’s arrangements of popular songs from different parts of Spain are playful, serious and tragic.

Mezzo-soprano Hannah Morley is currently studying for an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal and Operatic Performance at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where she also obtained her Masters with distinction. She is generously supported by the Conservatoire with a scholarship and studies under the tuition of Louise Crane.

Running time approx. 55 minutes with a short interval.
