How to use the MySRS applicant portal

After you apply to Birmingham City University, you'll be given access to the MySRS applicant portal. Find out how to access the portal to view the progress of your application, upload outstanding documents and book an audition or interview.

Accessing and navigating MySRS:

Speaker 1: This is a tutorial to access and navigate the MySRS Applicant Portal. The MySRS portal helps you keep track of your application as it moves through all the stages of your applicant journey. Access to the portal is given to you once we have received your application. You can log into the portal if you've received an email from us acknowledging the receipt of your application. You can use the automatic login link to the portal contained in the email. Otherwise, go to MySrs.bcu.ac.uk and enter your username and password. Your username is the eight-digit BCU university application number. You will find this in any email correspondence our admissions team has sent to you. Once you are logged in to the MySRS Applicant Portal, you can see multiple options on your home screen. First of all, you can edit your personal details or your home address if these do change. Then you can navigate to the applications portal. The applications page allows you to view any courses that you have applied for and also complete any outstanding actions that we need you to complete to progress your application. These might be supplying evidence, uploading documents or providing extra information that we need. You can click into the more information to see exactly what it is that we need from you. Once you have done this, you can navigate back to the applications tab and view any completed actions at the bottom of the screen. You can also navigate to the Events tab of the applicant portal. The Events tab is where you can view any interview or audition requests and book these in.

How to upload documents to the MySRS portal:

Speaker 1: To upload documents to your application on the MySRS portal, you will need to navigate to the application section of the portal. Once you are in the applications section, ensure that you are amending the correct application if you have multiple. Then go to the Actions tab and select Outstanding Actions. This will tell you what actions are outstanding and what it is that you need to provide. You can then select Upload Files and use the File Uploader to choose a file from your device. Select the appropriate file, ensure that it is now something appropriate and click upload. Once your document has successfully uploaded, click Submit Document. You will then receive a notification that your document has been uploaded, and you can return to the list. If you have more documents to be uploaded, you can do so here. Or you can go to the Completed Actions tab. Where you'll be able to see the progress of your application. Here you will see three options. You will see in progress awaiting verification, which means that our admissions team are currently reviewing your application. Or you will see successful, which means that the admissions team have approved your document and you do not need to provide anything further for this. Or you will see rejected, which means that the action will come back to the top of the screen and that you will need to complete the action again. You can also delete the document here if you need to and would like to re-upload another one or view the document to ensure it's the correct one.

How to book an interview in MySRS:

Speaker 1: If your course requires an interview, you can book this through the Events tab on the My SRS Applicant Portal. Once you're in the Events tab, you'll be able to see any interviews that you have been invited to. Make sure to select the correct course if you have applied to more than one at BCU. You can see the actions, and if you need to respond to an interview invitation. You can then click Select to see more information about this interview invitation and select the date and time you would be able to attend. You will then be able to see all the information about the interview and let us know if you have any access requirements for the interview. Once you're happy, you can click Next. You will then receive confirmation for your interview and you should receive an email. Back on the events tab, you will be able to see the confirmation of your interview, and you can also see further details. If you need to, you can view the details again, resend the email if you have lost it or deleted it, and you can also cancel your attendance if you are no longer able to attend your interview.
