Meet or Beat scholarship

We want all our students to achieve their full potential. So, if your child holds an offer and meets or beats our published entry requirements, they could be eligible for a £1,000 scholarship. Find out more.

Choosing the right student accommodation is as important as choosing the right degree, because when your child is not on campus, they'll be spending time in their new home. As Birmingham City University is centrally located in the city of Birmingham, we are able to boast an impressive portfolio of accommodation for our students to choose from.

Although there may be different accommodation buildings that your child can apply to, all of our accommodation boast similar amenities like en suite rooms, laundry facilities, security and much more. BCUSU also runs a student homes programme which allows students to live in private houses as opposed to shared flats.

Our libraries provide access to over 135 million resources including books, journal articles, e-book chapters and conference proceedings. We have free wireless access for our students, staff and visitors across all of our campuses. We also have plenty of open-access IT suites and work areas as well as bookable rooms for more focused self-study.

Birmingham City University Students' Union

As a BCU student your child will automatically be enrolled into BCUSU, and from day one, they will have access to all the facilities and services that the Students’ Union has to offer. Birmingham City University Students’ Union (BCUSU) is separate from the University and is run by students, for students. The SU offer services such as an advice centre, which can provide advice, support and representation to help you and your child with basic immigration queries, accommodation, working in the UK, fees and funding and much more.

The Students’ Union is also the home to many international student-led societies; you’ll be able to meet like-minded students and take part in trips, cultural activities, events and festivals throughout the year.

Job opportunities

Student jobs on campus are up for grabs all the time, so while your child is studying they can gain valuable and paid work experience.
