Finance and Investment - BSc (Hons)
Dillon knew that going to university was the right step towards a career in the banking industry. After taking a look at our courses, our industry connections and placement opportunities, he decided that BCU was the place to take that first step.
"I joined the DJ society as soon as I started at BCU. Being a part of this society has boosted my self-confidence and my resilience and I’ve had the opportunity to play at events across the city while making friends from across the university.
The proudest moment of my time at BCU so far would be gaining an industrial placement at Airbus UK. The Careers+ team here have given me the greatest support in securing my placements and now with helping me find graduate employment.
My goal is to secure a graduate job with a well-known firm in the banking industry, and I feel that my time here, supported by the help from Careers+ and the Centre for Academic Success have set me up on the right path to get there.
From a young age, I had a desire to go to university. When I started looking, I was searching for a university that provided a smooth transition from sixth form into higher education, and after I came and saw the brand new facilities at BCU, it was too good an opportunity to turn down.
When I first arrived, I was greeted with the warmest of welcomes from my lecturers and fellow students, immediately feeling like this was my home. My course is centred on working in small groups, meaning that we have the space and time to be involved and ask any questions we have there any then.
Saying ‘I AM BCU’ means that I belong to a university that is 7th in the UK for graduate employment, and that I belong to a community of high-achieving students who are lucky enough to study in state-of-the-art facilities and then go off into the world and flourish."
