Canal Clean Ups
Approximately 26 million tonnes of plastic pollution ends up in the oceans every year. Keeping our canals and beaches clean is an important way to keep harmful materials away from marine life. Our Environmental Champions will be running BCU Canal Litter Picks with the Canal and River Trust. To find out more contact environment@bcu.ac.uk
You can also get involved in community groups such as: National Sealife Birmingham, Canal and River Trust
The Community Environmental Trust
A fantastic small charity that protect and enhance urban green spaces. They regularly support our Go Green Week activities but you can get involved with their projects and volunteering throughout the year.
Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust
Their mission is to protect wildlife across Birmingham and the Black Country. You don’t need any experience to volunteer.
Birmingham Voluntary Service Council
BVSC provides further volunteer opportunities in Birmingham.
Ethical Careers
One of the University’s primary objectives is to equip our graduates with the skills needed to secure their dream jobs. Equally important to us is ensuring that the employers we connect our students and graduates with align with the university’s core values. The Vacancy Advertising Policy details the checks and assessments performed before establishing partnerships with employers.
