Helen Wheeler

Helen Wheeler has been a commercially successful artist for the last 12 years, her work being available in countless high street outlets. She has worked in-house for the UK’s leading greetings card manufacturer, UK Greetings, creating a wide spectrum of products, covering all elements from concept to final production. Clients include the BBC, Paperchase, Next, Waterstones, House of Fraser, Boots, WHSmith, The British Medical Journal, and 30 of the main UK charities including The National Trust and Save the Children Foundation.

Within her work as a freelance illustrator she has expanded her practice to character development for CBBC, a body of exhibition pieces motivated by her interest in figure, character, and narrative. Exploration and creation of artist books add another dimension and direction to her portfolio.

Her current research interests are Folk, Naïve, and Outsider Art, and experimental drawing techniques.
