Hires and Loans
Hires and Loans is BCU's system for borrowing media equipment. Available to current students only.
Situated at the heart of the Parkside Media Centre, near our TV, Film, Photography and Radio studios, Hires and Loans provides students and academics with a broad range of high-end cameras, sound recording equipment, tripods, lighting and much more.
Got any questions? The room is staffed by our specialist technicians who are happy to offer advice and support to help with any technical queries and ensure that you make the most of the excellent resources at your disposal.
The Hires and Loans team holds over £750,000 of lighting, camera, audio and support equipment. Included in the stock are industry leading brands like Arri, Sony, Canon, Tilta, Teradek, O’Connor, Small HD, Sennheiser, Rode, Beyer Dynamic, Sound Devices and more.
Having access to the equipment when you need it is very important to us, so the department is open for loans 48 weeks of the year. And with its online booking system available 24/7, students can manage the bookings and plan their activities whenever they like.
Students are encouraged to borrow the equipment all year round, taking advantage of the access they can only get as part of their course while studying.
