Sara Whylie

Sara has a passion for impactful research that supports children’s ability to read and write.

She completed a BSc in Psychology at the University of York and a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology at Lancaster University. Her PhD thesis at Coventry University examined literacy development in children, with a specific focus on morphological awareness and its role in reading, writing and spelling. She is also interested in exploring the cognitive processes involved in reading and spelling using a range of tools including the eye tracker.

Through teaching roles at Lancaster University and Coventry University, Sara has developed an eagerness to deliver the best possible teaching experiences to students.
