Kathrina teaches on a number of modules on the BSc Psychology and MSc Health psychology course at BCU. She thoroughly enjoys interacting with students through using real life case studies, practical examples and more generally chooses a hands-on approach to her teaching. She believes that research informed teaching is at the heart of developing students’ knowledge and skills and enhancing their learning experience.
Kathrina’s research interests are within the area of medical interactions, more specifically looking at the interactional practices used by health professionals when interacting with patients (doctor-patient communication). She specialises in using conversation analysis and more recently, in developing interactional coding frameworks to analyse doctor-patient interaction.
