Student Research Collaborations in Practice: Working Class Academics by Dr Storey and Keris Richardson

This seminar is hosted by the School of Law Research Seminar Series. Our series offers exciting insights into ongoing research projects within the law school and conducted by our external research partners. We often feature work from our research centres (the Centre for American Legal Studies, the Centre for Human Rights, the Centre for Science, Law and Policy, and the International Business Law Research Group).

Our work is often transdisciplinary, dealing with law's relationship with broadly defined social justice, policy-making, science and much more. Join us for invigorating discussion!

In this session, we hear from Dr Storey and Keris Richardson. Dr Alice Storey is a Senior Lecturer in Law and Associate Director of the Centre for Human Rights, where she leads the 'UPR Project at BCU'. Alongside her international human rights research, Alice has keen interest in empowering law students through creating development opportunities and exploring issues around representation. Keris Richardson is a second-year LLB student, with a particular interest in the philosophy of law and human rights law.

About the Session

To showcase the positives and challenges of engaging with the School of Law's Student Research Collaborations, Dr. Alice Storey and LLB student Keris Richardson will share their experiences of working together on a research project titled 'Working Class Academics.' During the research seminar, Alice and Keris will discuss the project and its findings to date, along with sharing their experiences of working together on a live research project. Staff and students who are interested in the Student Research Collaborations, or who have previously taken part in a research project, should feel free to come along and share their own experiences or ask questions!
