Sam is a PhD student based in the School of Law, conducting doctoral research focusing on global animal law, intersectionality, and social justice. He is passionate about delivering research that will lead to the improvement of protections for animals, the environment, and marginalised groups. Sam is looking to inspire others to pursue justice for oppressed groups, both human and non-human, and to achieve a full-time academic position after his PhD.

His background is in international environmental and climate change law, and global animal law. His qualifications include an LLB (Hons) from Newcastle University, and an LLM in Global Environment and Climate Change Law from the University of Edinburgh.
