My teaching career has encompassed working with children aged 5-13 years in Primary and Middle schools within Dudley and Worcestershire Education authorities. Prior to taking up employment at Birmingham City University, I was an Advanced Skills Teacher specialising in supporting schools in North Worcestershire in English in KS2 and Transition in KS2/3.

I joined Birmingham City University in 2005 as a Senior Lecturer in Professional Studies. This role involves writing modules and teaching students on the BA Primary Education with QTS and PGCE Primary with QTS within the areas of Inclusion and Special Educational Needs, Teaching and Learning, Assessment, Children's Development and Independent Research.

I supervise students on teaching practices across both programmes and I am a personal tutor for students on BA Primary Education with QTS, PGCE Primary with QTS, BAECES and CHIPC programmes of study. In addition to the role of Senior Lecturer, I have also been Deputy Partnership Manager, Year Tutor for BA2 students and I am currently subject leader for Professional Studies.
