Sara is a full-time Senior Lecturer in software engineering. She received her PhD in Computer Science in 2019 from University of Birmingham, UK. She worked as a teaching assistant for Software Engineering 2015-2019 at the University of Birmingham, UK. Prior to that she got her MEng in Computer Science with Software Engineering from University of Birmingham, UK in 2015.

Her undergraduate and postgraduate research is on applying value-based design decisions for software architectures. She applied her contributions to a new architectural style --- microservices --- which is gaining increased popularity both in academia and industry. Currently, her research interests span both value-based software design and incorporating mental health awareness into software design.

She is currently an active researcher in the Intelligent Software Systems Lab (ISSL). Within this lab, she investigates applying established approaches (e.g., neural network, objective decision-making, secure design) in novel ways, thereby producing intelligent solutions for software systems in a myriad of domains.

Currently, she is teaching on the BSc Computer Science, MSc Advanced Computer Science courses. She is also the Deputy Course Leader for the MSc Advanced Computer Science course.
