Ideally located in the centre of our dynamic and diverse city, the Faculty comprises two schools that, together, are able meet the multiple modern technological challenges posed by our fast-paced industries. Their shared vision is to create a powerful centre of technological excellence and innovation and to equip you with the skills you need to succeed in the workplace and contribute to the wider society.

Inspirational teaching

Our teaching staff come from and maintain their links with industry, ensuring you are given an insight into the latest thinking. We are constantly looking for new ways to enhance the learning experience, with inspiring visiting lecturers and learning environments that are designed to replicate the workplaces you aim to enter. We even give you the chance to gain work experience in real roles around the University, through our pioneering student employment agency, OpportUNIty – Student Jobs on Campus.

Links with industry

Our close links to big-name companies and organisations allow you to become involved in the latest research or make a real contribution to business, while our international links provide opportunities to further explore the emerging technologies, which are crucial for sharing knowledge. They also offer opportunities for overseas exchange.

We are dedicated to putting students at the heart of everything we do, to give you the best opportunities for future success. Our student support is award-winning, including our ground-breaking Student Academic Partners Scheme, where staff and students work together to find ways to make our teaching even better.

Through a vast choice of accredited courses supported by more than 200 staff, plus vigorous research activities, CEBE has gained a reputation as the West Midlands’ chief hub of knowledge, technology and skills transfer into industry.
