Dr Hazel Ann Nash

Senior Lecturer in Planning Law

School of Engineering and the Built Environment

Hazel has worked in the Planning Policy Division of the Welsh Government (2011-2015) and in local government as a Planning Officer (2015-2018), responsible for a case load of varied development management applications. She currently works as Senior Lecturer in Planning Law at Birmingham City University where she teaches all aspects of planning law, landlord and tenant law and practice and other elements of land use planning and property management practices. In her spare time Hazel provides planning advice to a Wales based law firm, Agriadvisor.

Hazel has a doctorate in planning and environmental law, awarded by the University of Wales. Following this, she undertook an AHRC funded Postdoctoral position in the School of Law, University of Dundee (2006-2008). She also has an LLM in Social Research Methods, an LLM in Environmental Law and Management and a BA (hons) in Geography and German.
