Relocation plan for School of Acting
The School of Acting will be relocating from its current home at Millennium Point in January, when staff and students will temporarily move to Ruskin Hall, Bournville, before moving to a new location in Digbeth in September 2022.
The School will be temporarily based in Bournville from Monday 17 January. Ruskin Hall, previously home to the School of Art, is currently being fitted out to support a high-quality learning and teaching experience for our students and staff including rehearsal spaces, social areas and other facilities that will enable students to complete the 2021/22 academic year. For the very first week of term, while Ruskin Hall is readied for staff and student arrival, teaching will take place at City Centre Campus and the Doug Ellis Sports Centre.
Support for the next academic year
At the end of the academic year, the School of Acting will then move in to its new location close to the creative hub in the Custard Factory and within walking distance of City Centre Campus, with the move being the start of an exciting new chapter in its history.
To support students over this period, the University has put in place measures to ensure that they do not incur any out of pocket travel expenses, whilst those students with an existing Disability Support Summary are being contacted directly to discuss specific support needs.
The Production Department and Stage Management course will continue to be based at Unit 3B Heneage Street.
