Public and community engagement

Delegates at engagement panel

Public and community engagement (PCE) is central to BCU’s place-based approach, which is guided and celebrated by our mission to be the University for Birmingham. This reflects our role as both an anchor Institution in Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, but also as a civic university.

Our approach to Public and Community Engagement (PCE) is set out in our PCE Strategy. This includes a context to our approach, the focus of our work to 2025, and sets out four thematic pillars of PCE activity: partnership to advance growth and innovation; championing and supporting diversity; knowledge making, sharing and exchange; and cultural and creative identity.
