Charlotte is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Midwifery and Children's Health. She qualified as a Children’s Nurse in 2008, gaining various experiences in this field, including general paediatrics, community health nursing, and inpatient child and adolescent mental health services.

In 2012, Charlotte returned to BCU to train as a Health Visitor and qualified as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting). As a Health Visitor, she worked in various locations around Birmingham and Walsall, specialising in families seeking asylum. Following this, she took on the role of Specialist Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children at University Hospitals Birmingham and within Birmingham Social Care.

In 2020, Charlotte joined BCU, initially as a lecturer and then as a Senior Lecturer. Since then, she has completed a PGCert in Teaching and Learning (Higher Education) and an MSc in Safeguarding, where she achieved a Distinction. Charlotte currently teaches and runs modules on both pre- and post-qualifying Health courses. She continues to work clinically as a Safeguarding Consultant to General Practice.
