Following her military career, Sarah transitioned into higher education, joining BCU as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing (Skills and Simulation) before progressing to a Senior Lecturer role at Birmingham Newman University. There, she led the design and delivery of skills-based modules, developed innovative simulation learning experiences, contributed to academic staff development, and supported quality assurance and assessment processes.
Sarah’s academic interests include clinical skills education, simulation-based learning and enhancing the student experience. She is dedicated to creating inclusive, engaging and supportive learning environments that help students develop the confidence, competence and professional values needed to become exceptional nurses. Her passion lies in supporting students throughout their nursing journey and helping to make their university experience both memorable and rewarding.
Alongside her academic role, Sarah remains professionally active as an Immediate Life Support Instructor, delivering resuscitation training within clinical practice settings.
Sarah is delighted to have returned to BCU and looks forward to a long, fulfilling career contributing to nursing education, supporting student success, and helping shape the next generation of nursing professionals.
