Dr von Berg is Founder and Director of The Bridge Educational Consultancy Ltd, a non-profit company. The Bridge provides training for university staff and students on how to cultivate senses of belonging among marginalised students to improve their educational outcomes.
Prior to academia, Dr von Berg worked in the Caucasus and Central Asia (2000-2006) on technical assistance projects on citizenship, voter education and local government funded by DfID, the Open Society Institute and USAID. He practiced at the Bar of England and Wales (2010-2017) at the Chambers of 36 Group. He was editor-in-chief of the first comprehensive practitioners’ guide to judicial review in the criminal justice system (Hart Publishing, 2014). He practiced in predominantly in family law and judicial review, and appeared in reported cases in the Court of Appeal and High Court.
