Dr Samuel Smith
Dr. Samuel Smith leads modules in Digital Signal Processing, Digital Audio Effects, and Audio and Video Processing. He received a BSc~(Hons) in Sound Engineering and Production from Birmingham City University in 2012 and a PhD from the same institution in 2021. His doctoral research developed a novel statistical approach for three-dimensional surface detection. His research interests include audio signal processing, music information retrieval, medical image processing, and computer vision. He has authored papers published in IEEE Signal Processing Letters and the Transactions of the International Society for Music Information Retrieval, and has co-authored work presented at Audio Engineering Society conferences.
