Dr Konstantina Georgiadou

Dr Konstantina Georgiadou is a Lecturer in Architecture with extensive experience in heritage research, specialising in the intersection of architectural heritage, memory, and conflict. Her work focuses on how spatial practices engage with sites shaped by historical trauma, contested narratives, displacement, and layered temporalities. Building on her doctoral research at the University of Liverpool (2019), which examined how conflict and population displacement reshaped early twentieth-century Northern Greece, her interdisciplinary practice brings together archival research, spatial analysis, digital humanities, and participatory design.

As a core member of the ArCHIAM Research Centre, Dr Georgiadou has contributed to high-impact heritage documentation, management, and policy initiatives across the MENA region. She is currently a Co-Investigator on an AHRC-funded project developing sustainable urban development policy guidelines in collaboration with Oman’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.

Her work also extends into digital humanities and heritage archiving. She has contributed to the development of open-access archives for the Gulf Architecture Project, a collaboration between the University of Liverpool and the Qatar National Library, and coordinated digital archive strategies for a British Academy initiative involving seven international research institutes (BIRI).

Dr Georgiadou is a member of the Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) and welcomes interdisciplinary collaborations with academic institutions, NGOs, and cultural organisations working across vernacular heritage, digital archiving, heritage documentation, and participatory urban regeneration.
